Our Beginnings
Vibhavadi Hospital was established by a group of medical doctors whose desire was to give better services to patients. Construction of a 9-storey building began in 1984 on 1.5 rai of land. The building was officially opened on the 1st of March 1986. On March 20th 1986, the first baby girl born at Vibhavadi Hospital was named "Vibhavadi" after the hospital. In 1992, Vibhavadi Hospital was first traded on the Stock Exchange of Thailand as "Vibha". It currently has over 2,500 shareholders. To cope with the increasing demand for better patient care and hospital services, a new 18-storey building was added to the medical center in 1997, offering more specialists in every field and more out-patient and in-patient rooms. Management could foresee a growth in the demand for long stay and medical tourism; thus, a third building named Vibhavadi Tower was erected to accommodate foreign patients and relatives. In 1999, Vibhavadi Hospital was conferred the ISO 9001 accreditation and is currently a candidate for HA (Hospital Accreditation) and JCI (Joint Commission International). Over the years from 1991 to present, Vibhavadi Hospital became affiliated with a network of hospitals including Chaophya Hospital, Ramkamhaeng Hospital, Synphaet Hospital, VibhaRam Hospital, and Serirak Hospital making it one of the biggest network of hospitals within the nation. |
