Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a major cause of abdominal pain, bloating, or burning sensations under the breastbone. In some cases, symptoms do not improve even after taking antacids. More importantly, H. pylori infection is a significant cause of peptic ulcers and gastric cancer.
Traditionally, detecting H. pylori required an upper endoscopy to examine the stomach lining. However, today, H. pylori can be detected through a Urea Breath Test, a non-invasive method that analyzes the results within 5 minutes after a 30-minute breath sampling process. This allows patients to consult with a physician immediately afterward, enhancing the speed of diagnosis and treatment.
