02-058-1111Passive immunization for RSV prevention is recommended for children aged newborn to 2 years. It helps reduce the risk of infection from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)—a leading cause of serious respiratory illnesses such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia in infants.
Vaccinating early helps build immunity before illness occurs, reducing the chances of hospitalization and severe complications during high-risk seasons.
Infants aged 0–2 years
Premature babies or children with underlying health conditions
Young children during high-risk periods, such as the rainy season or when attending daycare
Prevents severe respiratory tract infections in infants
Reduces risk of complications such as pneumonia
Lowers the chance of hospitalization
Strengthens immunity during a child’s most vulnerable stage
RSV immunization for infants (under 1 year old), single dose
For newborns - 1 month old:
Weight not exceeding 5 kg.
Recommendations:
