Breast Screening

Breast cancer: The number one threat that women can prevent if they know in time! 🌸

"Breast cancer" is often a silent threat that shows no symptoms in the early stages. But did you know that if detected early, the chances of a complete cure are very high? Regular screening for breast cancer every year using Digital Mammogram alongside Ultrasound Breast can help identify small abnormalities that cannot be felt, increasing your confidence and accurately protecting your health.

Who should get screened?

  • Women aged 30 and above who want to take preventive care of their breast health.
  • Those with a family history of breast cancer (e.g., mother or sister has had it).
  • Individuals who find lumps during self-examination or notice one breast or arm swelling abnormally.
  • Those experiencing unusual symptoms such as breast pain, skin swelling or distortion around the breast, or discharge from the nipple without known cause.
  • Individuals who want to get screened after stopping hormone therapy or are in other risk factors.

Pre- and post-screening advice:

  • No need to fast or refrain from drinking water before the test.
  • Avoid gels, lotions, or skin care products on the breast area on the day of the test.
  • Wear loose clothing for convenience during the examination.
  • After the test, you can return home immediately and resume normal activities, except in cases of referral or further testing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need to get screened every year?

A: It is recommended to start annual screenings after age 40, or from age 30 if there are risk factors.

Q: Is it painful during the ultrasound or mammogram?

A: The mammogram may cause slight squeezing sensations, but it lasts only a short time and subsides quickly. The images help detect small lumps that cannot be felt.

Q: When will I know the results?

A: The results of the ultrasound and mammogram can be known within the same day, and the doctor will provide guidance after the test.

Q: Will there be additional costs if abnormalities are found?

A: If lumps or concerns are detected, there may be additional testing costs, such as MRI or biopsy, but the service system is ready to advise on special rights if you participate in the program.
