More About Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used alternatives to medicine in the world. Originating in China more than 4,000 years ago, acupuncture began to become better known through out the world including Europe, the United States, and Japan for many hundreds of years.  Meetings held by the World Health Organization in 1979 and 1995 approved acupuncture as an alternative medicine for treating 57 illnesses. Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical technique for unblocking chi (ch'i or qi) by inserting needles at particular points on the body to balance the opposing forces of yin and yang. Chi is an energy that allegedly permeates all things. Patients are recommended to adjust their style of living accordingly such as living a healthier life and reducing emotional stress in order to maximize the effects of acupuncture. In 1998 Thailand's Ministry of Health in alliance with The University of ShangHai's School of Chinese Medicine initiated acupuncture training courses in Thailand and until present has produced more than 500 licensed acupuncturists nationwide.

Acupuncture Needles
Needles are stainless, very thin, fine and disposable. All needles are sterilized before use.

Slight stinging feeling which disappears when the needle reaches the inner layer of the skin. 
 
Recommendations For Getting An Acupuncture
1. Eat a well-balanced diet and get enough sleep
2. Wear comfortable clothes. Shirts and blouses should be loose enough to fold up sleeves, and pants should be able to fold above the knees. Women should not wear stockings.
3. Relax and do not tense muscles during acupuncture.  Each treatment should take 15 - 20 minutes.
